Vorbis Rage, a product available exclusively for Mac OS X, is a collection of tools for Ogg Vorbis enthusiasts. Ogg Vorbis is an audio file encoding technology.

With Vorbis Rage, you can edit Vorbis “comments,” which are analogous to MP3 ID3 tags that contain information about a particular audio track such as artist, album and more. You can individually edit files with Vorbis Rage using QuickEdit windows. Or you can batch change them with the Comment Changer tool. You can also generate a catalog of your entire collection.

Vorbis Rage is available immediately for a suggested retail price of US$19.95. It requires Mac OS X — version 10.2 (“Jaguar”) is recommended. A 15-day free trial is available for download from Chaotic Software’s Web site. The application is localized in the English and Japanese languages.

MP3 Rage, the MP3 Tag Editor software built specifically for the Mac, has been updated to version 5.4, which adds the ability to pin the artwork in the Artwork Browser. It also adds support for using “q” as the Composer tag in data expression to allow adding composer information to catalogs, file names, etc., as well as the ability to sort filenames containing numbers in a natural order in the Track Numberer.
