SpaceRoad

Mac OS X's Spaces (part of Mission Control since OS X 10.7 'Lion') is a feature that allows you to spread your programs across up to 16 separate desktop areas. These spaces will help you to organize your activities, since they provide you with far more 'space' to work with than is available on your physical display (s). The Apple USB SuperDrive is compatible with Mac models from 2008 and later that don't have a built-in optical drive. Connect and use your SuperDrive To use your SuperDrive, connect it to a USB-A port on your Mac., then insert a disc. Make sure that the aluminum enclosure of the SuperDrive is facing up. Save space on your Mac by storing your content in iCloud, using built-in tools to find and remove large files, or manually deleting apps, files, and more. Spaces was a virtual desktop feature of Mac OS X, introduced in Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. It was announced by Steve Jobs during the opening keynote at the Worldwide Developers Conference on August 7, 2006. As of Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, it has been incorporated into Mission Control. Spacemacs is a new way to experience Emacs - a sophisticated and polished set-up focused on. Ergonomics, mnemonics and consistency.

While in dired this layer will try to use gls instead of ls.

2 Philosophy

While this layer enables common OSX bindings, it does not implement OSXnavigation keybindings. Spacemacs is meant to be used with evil, and weencourage you to do so :)

3 Install

3.1 Layer

To use this configuration layer, add it to your ~/.spacemacs. You will need toadd osx to the existing dotspacemacs-configuration-layers list in this file.

3.1.1 Use with non-US keyboard layouts

If you need the key to type common characters such as {[]}~ which is usualfor e.g. Finnish and Swedish keyboard layouts, you'll probably want to leave the key unchanged by setting the osx-use-option-as-meta variable to nil:

If you have problem entering symbols that are behind the key you may want toadded this to the user-init in the .spacemacs-File. This will allow you to usethe right key to write symbols. The left key can be used as the Metakey.

3.1.2 Define words using OS X Dictionary

This layer by default enables defining words under point SPC x w d using OS XDictionary. In some cases you might want to manually setup dictionary to use.For example,

To get the list of available dictionaries call osx/list-available-dictionariesfunction.

You can disable it by setting osx-use-dictionary-app variable to nil:

3.2 Coreutils

To get gls install coreutils homebrew:

An interesting remake of the classic SkyRoads game in which you have to take control of a spaceship and reach the end of the space road without crashing

What's new in Space Roads 1.3:

  • Minor bugs fixed.
Read the full changelog

Space Roads is an engaging and challenging space race game that puts you in command of a spacecraft, which you have to control on various deadly space roads.

Like in the original SkyRoads game, your main objective is to drive from on end of the road to the other without falling through road gaps or colliding with the road blocks. Hence, you have to avoid all blocks and road gaps and jump from one platform to another until you reach the end of the road.

You have total control over the spaceship and, as a result, you can accelerate or decelerate the spacecraft, steer to the left and right and jump over obstacles. The faster you move, the longer you can jump and move from one side to another.

Space Roads comes with intuitive game controls and a simple color-coded system that can boost or slow down your ship. The light green sections allow you to accelerate quickly while the light red platforms will decelerate your craft just as quickly. While you are on dark green parts of the road you will not be able to steer left or right.

You also have to stay clear of dark red blocks because they will explore you ship. However, you can drift on the very edge of light red squares. Driving on blue sections of the road will refill your spaceship’s fuel and nitrogen. It is worth mentioning, that certain blue tiles are hidden and you have to discover them in order to complete the level.

The yellow road allows you to move naturally and dark gray sections will reduce your nitrogen level. Space Roads’ HUD helps you monitor your speed, view the track completion level and keep track of your fuel and N2 level.

The overall gameplay is pretty challenging not only because of the obstacles and the color coded road system but also because of the unnatural response of the controls.

As it is, Space Roads can offer you a couple of minutes of frustration especially if you cannot get used to the response of the game controls. We hope to see fixes and improvements in future updates.
