Widescreen resolution[edit]

Widescreen fixes only work in-game, not on the main menu.

Any resolution warnings can be safely ignored when prompted (or see here).

Shadow resolution[edit]

  2. Increase the value of shadow_tex_size = 64 to 128, 256, etc... (changing the entry under [64M32B] should be enough).

Notes

Unsupported display mode[edit]

When starting a game a Critical Error message appears about unsupported display mode. This can be ignored or use the following instructions, so it doesn't appear.

  1. Go to the installation folder and open system_detail.gas with a text editor.
  2. Add a new display mode with the resolution you want (adding a new entry under [64M32B] should be enough):
    • For example: [1920x1080] {max_back_buffers = 2;}.
  3. Save the file.

Low frame rate[edit]

From the beginning of Darkest Dungeon, you learn that you inherited an estate from a relative. This happens while you were seeking fame and also fortune by excavating the dungeons and some catacombs. In this game, you are allowed to recruit up to 25 heroes on your roster at any time. You have to know that each hero belongs to 1 of 15 character classes and their skills get update in time. In case a hero dies while exploring a dungeon, that hero is lost forever. Another important thing you should know is that dungeons are procedurally-generated in a roguelike manner. They are design like a series of interconnected rooms having hallways between them.
